About

A free RSPB St Albans guided walk around Wilstone Reservoir to look for wintering wildfowl such as Wigeon, Teal and Goldeneye.

RSPB St Albans leads a walk around Wilstone Reservoir, one of the best birding sites in Hertfordshire and the largest of the Tring reservoirs. The group will look for wintering waterfowl such as Wigeon, Teal, Pochard, Tufted Ducks, Goldeneye and Pintail, with Lapwings and Golden Plovers often feeding on the mud at this time of year. The walk starts at 9:30am from the top of the steps at the reserve car park and lasts around four and a half hours; participants should wear suitable clothing and footwear for cold, possibly muddy conditions and bring binoculars. All levels of birdwatching knowledge are welcome.
