Castle Water Bird Walk at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve (420337035)
About
A guided 6km birdwatching walk around Castle Water at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve led by expert birder James Duncan.
Sussex Wildlife Trust runs a peaceful guided circular walk of around 6km starting and ending at Brede Lock, taking in Castle Water, a former gravel pit, and the quieter farmed side of Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. The route follows the River Brede across sheep fields to the birdwatching hide overlooking Castle Water, where wintering songbirds, ducks, egrets and possibly a Marsh Harrier may be seen, before returning past Camber Castle and reedbeds. The walk lasts around three hours, may overrun by up to half an hour, and participants must be at least 14 years old.
