Design and Weave a Cushion on a Multi-Shaft Loom
About
A one-day workshop at Pitt Rivers Museum where weaver Angie Parker guides participants in designing and weaving a cushion panel on a four-shaft table loom.
Participants design a cushion using yarn wraps, then weave a panel on a pre-threaded four-shaft table loom, learning weave structures including plain and twill with access to a wide range of colourful yarns. No previous weaving experience is required and the session is adapted to each participant. At the end of the day, Angie Parker sews each woven panel into a finished cushion to take home, while participants can try an additional textile activity. The ticket price includes all materials, lunch and refreshments.
