About

Anthony Almeida directs a new production of Shakespeare's Othello at Derby Theatre, running 10–14 November 2026.

Anthony Almeida directs a new staging of Shakespeare's tragedy about fear, passion and paranoia in Othello and Desdemona's newlywed life, as Iago's whispered manipulations end in ruin. The production runs for eight performances in the Main House, including schools performances, a BSL-interpreted show and a live audio-described matinee. It lasts approximately 2 hours 50 minutes including an interval and is recommended for ages 14+, with advisories covering domestic violence, racism and related themes.
