Voices in Motion: Applied Theatre, Migration, Multilingualism and Empowerment through Practice-as-Research
About
A free MA symposium at Derby Theatre presenting three applied theatre research projects on migration, multilingualism and gender, with keynote speaker Arti Prashar OBE.
Voices in Motion is a symposium showcasing three interconnected practice-as-research projects by MA Applied Theatre & Education students at the University of Derby. The projects use participatory practice and performance to explore migration and belonging, multilingualism and translation, and women-centred responses to gendered hostility, drawing on methods such as Lois Weaver's Long Table. Keynote speakers and students share their research with a live audience at Derby Theatre, and the symposium is also livestreamed for online participation. Attendance is free both in person and online.
