Gel Plate Printing

A one-day gel plate printing workshop with Alison Butler at Meon Springs, exploring monoprint techniques without a press.

This full-day workshop (10am–4pm) teaches gel plate monoprinting without a press, using acrylic paint, stencils, textures and natural materials such as leaves and flowers. Participants learn layering, impressing, stencilling and masking techniques and leave with a series of one-of-a-kind prints suitable as finished artworks or starting points for painting, lino cutting or collage. Tutor Alison Butler brings over 30 years' experience as a textile designer and book illustrator. The session suits beginners and more experienced gel plate users alike, with tuition, materials and equipment included; attendees bring their own lunch.
