Beautiful Batik on Paper and Fabric
About
A one-day batik workshop with textile designer Alison Butler, exploring wax-resist techniques on paper and fabric in an 18th-century Long Barn.
This full-day batik workshop explores the shapes of seed heads and summer flowers using wax-resist techniques. Participants begin with experimental samples on different papers before creating a larger final piece, with the option to also work on fabric that can be embroidered at home. Tutor Alison Butler of Blooming Designs brings over 30 years' textile design experience, and the session suits complete beginners through to those extending their skills. Tuition, materials, equipment and refreshments are included; attendees bring their own lunch, an apron, theme images and an A3 folder.
