Alfred Wallis: An Artists’ Artist

Paintings by Alfred Wallis are shown with works by artists who collected and championed him.

Wallis began painting in later life and drew from memory on discarded cardboard and other everyday materials. The exhibition considers how his flattened perspectives, direct use of colour and depictions of Cornish harbours influenced modernist artists, while bringing together works from his own practice and those who admired it.
