About
Author Matilda Webb discusses the life of Alfred Wallis and the research behind her biography.
Webb draws on archival sources and conversations with Wallis’s descendants to examine his Cornish childhood, time at sea and work as a marine stores dealer before he began painting at age 70. The talk looks at how this earlier life informs understanding of his art.
