Relaxed Visits to Father Christmas 2026

A relaxed, ticketed festive village experience at Bolton Abbey where children meet Father Christmas and enjoy guided and self-led Christmas activities.

Father Christmas' Village in the heart of Bolton Abbey village offers families a 90-minute experience exploring Christmas traditions from Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, America and Australia. Children take part in guided activities such as fire lighting, storytelling and crafting, plus self-led fun like toasting marshmallows and reindeer hoopla, before meeting Father Christmas in his wooden cabin and receiving a bespoke Bolton Abbey decoration gift. The relaxed format lets families move around freely at their own pace rather than in groups. The event is outdoors, runs 9.00am–7.30pm with the last timeslot at 6.00pm, and is not suitable for children under 3.
