Afloat Through Spoken Word

An evening of original spoken word and poetry by members exploring migration, identity, belonging and seeking asylum, inspired by the themes of Afloat.

Afloat Through Spoken Word is a cabaret-style evening of poetry and personal reflections performed by members of Afloat, a Community Interest Company that grew out of a theatre show challenging barriers faced by people seeking asylum. The pieces explore migration, identity, belonging, change and what it means to seek safety, offering the audience space to listen, reflect and connect with the human experiences behind seeking asylum. The event is suitable for ages 15 and over.
