About
A free specialist tour at Glasgow Museums Resource Centre exploring objects related to magic and witchcraft and how the modern stereotype of the witch emerged.
Outreach assistant and occult history researcher Molly Hughes leads a tour selecting objects related to magic and witchcraft from the GMRC collection. The talk examines how the modern figure of the witch was forged over time, mirroring theological and socio-political ideals, and questions the accuracy of today's broomstick-and-cauldron stereotype. The event carries a content warning for violence against women and is limited to 15 spaces.
