CFF: La Bola Negra (15)

The Cornwall Film Festival screens La Bola Negra, a Spanish-language queer epic spanning three generations of gay men from the 1930s to the present day.

Directed by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, this 159-minute Spanish-language film (with English subtitles) tells its story across three timelines set in 1932, 1937 and 2017. It is inspired by Federico García Lorca's unfinished work of the same name and Alberto Conejero's play 'La Piedra Oscura'. The film won Best Director at Cannes and features Penélope Cruz, Glenn Close and the acting debut of musician Guitarricadelafuente. This screening is part of the Cornwall Film Festival programme at The Poly.
