Professional workshop: Engaging with heritage to create original theatre

A practical acta workshop exploring how heritage and people's history can be used to create original, socially engaged theatre.

Part of acta's Elevate skills-building programme for socially engaged theatre-makers, this open session examines the importance and impact of producing original theatre with a heritage focus. Participants will be introduced to past acta projects, explore different approaches to this work, and discuss how the process can be adapted for different groups and aspects of heritage. The workshop is open to all, including writers, storytellers, film-makers and researchers, not only theatre practitioners.
