About

A fungi walk at Three Hagges Woodmeadow with identification tips and an introduction to Plantlife’s Waxcap Watch citizen-science project.

Walk around Three Hagges Woodmeadow with Nature Reserves Manager Kara and local fungi expert Rhona Sutherland to look for fungi growing on site and pick up identification tips. The session introduces Waxcap Watch, Plantlife’s citizen-science project for helping conserve fungi. The published time is 10:00–12:00; Plantlife anticipates about two hours but says the walk may last longer if there is a lot to see. The reserve recommends sturdy boots or wellies because paths can become wet or muddy. Its access information describes mostly flat mown-grass paths, with uneven ground and roots in woodland sections; some woodland and mown paths may be challenging for mobility-aid users. A step-free hard path reaches the toilets and Bodgers Den. Two eco-loos with handwashing, benches, and Blue Badge and general parking at the main entrance are listed among the reserve facilities. For information and specific access needs, the event page lists kara.garnett@plantlife.org.uk.
