About

A free Black History Month exhibition exploring the history and significance of Black hair, on display at Edge Hill University.

This exhibition, part of Edge Hill University's Black History Month celebrations, explores the significance and power of Black hair throughout history, from African tribal styles and cornrows to dreadlocks and the afro. Images collated by staff and students examine how Black hair has come to symbolise heritage, community and strength. It is displayed in the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine building and is open to everyone, including the general public.
