Echo Vocal Ensemble

Echo Vocal Ensemble performs Unbound, a programme of sacred music by 17th-century composer Chiara Margarita Cozzolani, at the National Centre for Early Music.

Echo Vocal Ensemble's Unbound programme explores the sacred music of Chiara Margarita Cozzolani, a 17th-century Milanese nun whose works range from her dramatic 1650 Vespers settings to intimate theatrical dialogues. The concert presents her as a bold contemporary of Monteverdi, with music described as trailblazing and moving. It forms part of the York Early Music Christmas Festival.
