No Provenance
About
An exhibition curated by Issam Kourbaj presenting unprovenanced objects and artworks without labels, inviting reflection on identity and belonging.
'No Provenance' brings together artefacts, documents, photographs, found objects, fakes and newly commissioned artworks, all displayed without the identifying texts that normally contextualise or authenticate them. Drawn from Cambridge museums, archives, private collections and individual hands, the exhibition is curated by Issam Kourbaj and explores a resonance between unprovenanced objects and undocumented people. It runs at The Heong Gallery and is also presented across the Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology, open 12pm-5pm (except Mondays and Tuesdays and a closure between 21 December and 4 January 2027).
