Remembrance Sunday Service

A short remembrance ceremony at New Lanark's Memorial War Garden, followed by a free Soldiers of New Lanark tour.

On Remembrance Sunday, guests, visitors and the local community are invited to gather at the Memorial War Garden at New Lanark to honour those who gave their lives in service. The village bell rings at 11:00am to open a short ceremony featuring wreath laying, attendance by members of the New Lanark Village Group and local councillors, and a period of silent reflection. Afterwards, a free Soldiers of New Lanark Tour departs from the Visitor Centre at 11:15am, exploring the stories of village residents who served during times of conflict.
