About

Geshe Namdak leads a hybrid session for taking the eight Mahayana precepts on the Buddhist holy day of Lhabab Duchen.

On the morning of Lhabab Duchen, one of the four great holy days of the Buddhist calendar, Geshe Namdak will lead participants in taking the eight Mahayana precepts, 24-hour vows recommended by Lama Zopa Rinpoche for merit-multiplying days. The precepts are taken from the altar, so participants need not consider Geshe Namdak their teacher. The session runs 8am–9am and is offered hybrid: attend in the Jamyang gompa or join online via Zoom after RSVP. Some familiarity with Buddhist vows is recommended.
