Choral Workshop: Bach Motets

A morning singing workshop led by Jo Wainwright exploring two of Bach's motets, Jesu, meine Freude and Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden.

This choral workshop, part of the York Early Music Christmas Festival, is led by Jo Wainwright and focuses on two of J.S. Bach's most famous motets, 'Jesu, meine Freude' (BWV 227) and 'Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden' (BWV 230), masterpieces of Baroque counterpoint composed in Leipzig. Registration and coffee begin at 9.30am with the workshop running from 10am to 1pm. Scores are available online in advance, and some choral experience and sight-reading ability are helpful. Friends are invited to an informal run-through at 12.45pm.
