Advent Service

A free Advent service at Ushaw's St Cuthbert's Chapel combining scripture readings, prayers and choral music on an Advent theme.

Ushaw's Advent Service offers a chance to pause before Christmas preparations begin, with readings and music on the theme of Advent. The service blends scripture readings, prayers and choral music with well-known Advent hymns, exploring the themes of watching, witnessing and announcing the Good News of Christ's coming. Music is provided by the Hexham & Newcastle Diocesan Choir, with contributions from the Diocese of Hexham & Newcastle Children's Choir, made up of children from ten different primary schools.
