Arts & Crafts | Willow Weaving Bird Feeder Workshop from Mere Brow Makes
About
A beginner-friendly willow weaving workshop at Plumleys Plant & Garden where participants make a woven bird feeder, with a light lunch included.
This relaxed three-hour workshop teaches the basics of willow weaving, with each participant creating a bird feeder. Working from a wooden former, attendees shape their feeder, learn a 3 rod wale and a pairing weave for the sides, and finish with a woven handle. All tools and materials are provided by local basket maker and tutor Paula from Mere Brow Makes, and the session includes a light lunch with time to chat and socialise. It suits complete beginners as well as those with some weaving experience, though good hand strength and dexterity are needed to work with willow.
