The Norwich Film Festival Presents: The Cabinet of Dr Caligari (1920) + MINIMA Live Score

MINIMA perform a live original score to a screening of the 1920 silent horror classic The Cabinet of Dr Caligari at Norwich Theatre Playhouse.

The Bristol-based four-piece ensemble MINIMA accompany a screening of Robert Wiene's 1920 German Expressionist silent horror The Cabinet of Dr Caligari with a chilling original live score, using cello, double bass, mandolin, guitar, dulcimer, synthesiser and percussion. The film, made in the aftermath of the First World War, follows the mysterious Dr Caligari and his somnambulist Cesare, who predicts the future by day and commits murders by night. The screening runs for 1 hour 20 minutes with no interval and is certified U. It forms part of Norwich Film Festival 2026, which runs across Norwich venues from 6th to 15th November 2026.
