About
James Wood presents his memoir, 'Show Us the Father,' at Topping & Company Booksellers.
James Wood, a staff writer at The New Yorker, discusses his memoir, 'Show Us the Father.' The book reflects on his childhood in 1970s Durham and explores the mystery of his father, who was an atheist turned Anglican vicar. It is described as a tender portrait of a complicated household, exploring themes of faith, shame, ambition, and the English post-war consciousness.
