Arthur’s Amble

A free guided walk around Hunter's Bog and St Margaret's Loch exploring Arthur's Seat's volcanic past, human history and rare wildlife.

Historic Environment Scotland runs this gentle guided walk around Hunter's Bog and St Margaret's Loch in Holyrood Park. Participants learn about Arthur's Seat's turbulent geological past, shaped by fire and ice, and hear about the people who lived and worked in the Park from 7,000 years ago to the present day. The walk also covers the rare wildlife that makes the Park special. Sessions run 1pm–2.30pm on selected dates and are free with essential booking.
