Arthur’s Secrets

A free guided walk in Holyrood Park exploring Arthur's Seat's volcanic past, its human history and rare wildlife.

This ranger-led guided walk explores Arthur's Seat's turbulent geological past, shaped by fire and ice. Participants learn about the people who lived and worked in the park from seven thousand years ago to the present day, as well as the rare wildlife found there. The walk is of moderate grade over rough, uneven and boggy terrain with steep inclines and declines, and runs 1pm–3pm on selected Tuesdays (no walk on 29 December).
