Bayeux, Battles and Making History
About
A free spring exhibition at The Box Plymouth pairing a huge digital presentation of the Bayeux Tapestry with 14 works by Robert Borlase Smart.
The Box Plymouth partners with the British Museum on 'Bayeux Around Britain', presenting the biggest public digital screening anywhere in the country of the 70-metre Bayeux Tapestry, which tells the story of the 1066 conquest of England by William, Duke of Normandy. Specially developed digital assets let audiences explore the tapestry's detail up close. The exhibition also features 14 works by Robert Borlase Smart created after he served at the Battle of the Somme. It runs from 13 February to 11 April 2027, open 10am to 5pm.
