WNO Schools Concert
About
Welsh National Opera gives a free hour-long orchestral concert for Years 3-6 pupils on a Roman and Greek mythology theme, hosted by Elin Llwyd.
WNO Orchestra and a group of soloists perform a programme built around Roman and Greek mythology, hosted by Elin Llwyd. The repertoire mixes familiar favourites such as Offenbach's Can-Can with rarer pieces including Beethoven's music from Prometheus and Ballo de Orsi ('Dance of the Bears'). Running about an hour without an interval, the concert supports the Curriculum for Wales and National Curriculum in England, with a free resource pack for teachers. School group bookings are sold out, though small groups of home-educated young people and their educators can still attend.
