Listening With Your Eyes: Workshop
About
A practical workshop exploring non-verbal communication skills such as body language, eye-contact and tone of voice, aimed at building empathy and person-centred care.
This workshop develops skills of empathy, insight, listening and trust-building, with particular relevance to health and care settings. Participants practically explore non-verbal connection — body language, mood, eye-contact, touch and gesture — and how tone of voice changes meaning, with a focus on connecting with people living with dementia. It is led in a supportive, playful way and is suitable for all experience levels, though it has proved especially valuable for care home staff, GPs, nurses, counsellors, teachers and others whose work involves connecting with the public. The workshop is not mask-based.
