About

Cambridge University Orchestra performs Shostakovich's Tenth Symphony and Rachmaninov's Fourth Piano Concerto under conductor Duncan Ward with pianist Aidan Módica.

Cambridge University Orchestra, the University's flagship student orchestra, is led by conductor Duncan Ward in Shostakovich's Symphony No. 10, a landmark work of the postwar Soviet era written around the time of Stalin's death. The programme is paired with Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 4, in its 1941 revision, a slimmer and more psychologically driven work than the composer's earlier concertos. Pianist Aidan Módica, joint winner of the University's 2026 Concerto Competition, is the soloist.
