The Illusion of Life | A Kids Beginner's Stop Motion Animation Workshop

A hands-on beginner's stop-motion animation workshop for kids and families, creating a short animated film to take home.

Led by professional stop-motion animator Samuel Carson, this three-hour workshop introduces children and parents to how stop-motion animation works, showing how tiny movements captured frame by frame can make objects appear to move and come alive. Participants then work together to create their own short animated film using LEGO, paper, clay, drawings and everyday objects, with an easy-to-learn animation app. No experience is needed; attendees bring a smartphone and everything else is provided, and each participant leaves with a finished animation to share.
