About

Intermediate oud players practise maqam repertoire together, coordinating pulse and ornamentation in a small ensemble.

The course emphasizes ensemble playing over solo technique. Students hold their own lines, align ornamentation and pulse with other oud players, and work through maqamaat including Nahawand, Kurd, Lami, Bayat and Bayat Shor. Prior Oud Intermediate experience or assessment is expected; daily practice is encouraged.
