The Art of Painted Furniture
About
A full-day hands-on workshop transforming a small piece of vintage furniture using chalk paint, distressing and waxing for an authentic aged finish.
Participants bring a small unpainted vintage piece of furniture and spend the day learning to create a timeworn painted finish under the guidance of furniture restorer Julia Headland and decorative painter Danielle Neale. The workshop covers preparing old furniture, choosing and applying chalk paint, building colour layers, distressing, and using tinted waxes to add patina and protection. It is a small-group session for ages 18+, with no previous experience needed, and includes a light lunch, refreshments and a materials handout.
