Dark Sky Astronomy

Evening stargazing sessions at Grizedale Observatory on moonless nights, with telescope observing, a planetarium, meteorites and a robotic telescope, for ages 11+.

Held on moonless nights for the darkest possible skies, each three-hour evening gives visitors hands-on observing with the observatory's beginner-friendly telescopes, guided by the astronomy team. Activities also include a planetarium visit, exploring meteorites and microscopes, and learning about the robotic telescope in its purpose-built observatory. A complimentary hot drink is included and the events are suitable for ages 11 and over.
