Solo: Eight Hearts, One Life

An exhibition of eight works by Chris Rees exploring the emotional journey of a life through the symbol of the heart.

Chris Rees presents eight works tracing a journey from birth to death, each heart representing a different emotional state yet conceived as chapters of a single story. Drawing on relationships, family, love and personal upheaval, he uses colour, texture and unconventional materials to explore vulnerability, courage, suffering and survival. Rees works in acrylic paint, stencils, masking fluid and inkjet transfers, creating layered compositions that combine expressive mark-making with geometric grids.
