Pottery & Pitfire
About
A five-night residential pottery retreat at Gartmore House where tutor Carol Newmarch guides guests through clay techniques, design and outdoor raku or pit firing.
This all-inclusive craft holiday runs over five nights with four days of tuition from ceramicist Carol Newmarch. Guests explore a range of pottery techniques, develop design ideas from a seasonal theme, and learn a different making method each day, with demonstrations and one-to-one guidance suitable for all skill levels. Where weather allows, some pieces are fired outdoors in a raku kiln or pit-firing kiln, and participants leave with design artwork and finished pottery. The package includes full board, five nights' accommodation and complimentary transfers from Stirling train station.
