About

A hands-on steam locomotive footplate experience where participants fire and drive a restored engine on the Bluebell Railway.

Participants climb onto the footplate of a restored steam locomotive alongside the driver and fireman, shovelling coal into the firebox and helping to drive the engine. Sessions run at set times on selected dates in November and December 2026, and all participants must arrive 30 minutes before their booked experience time. The experience is aimed at railway enthusiasts and anyone looking for a memorable day out or gift.
