About

A ranger-led walk explores Hardwick’s veteran trees, their ecological value and the habitats they protect.

Hardwick’s expert rangers explain how to identify veteran trees, the ecological value of old and damaged trunks, and the estate’s work to grow the next generation of veteran trees. The walk covers about 3.5–4 miles and takes approximately 2.5–3 hours. Meet at Visitor Reception in the Stableyard. The route is uneven and not wheelchair accessible; the page asks visitors not to bring dogs. Suitable for ages 14 and over.
