Brighton’s Victorian Cells: The Old Police Cells Museum Guided Tour
About
A 50-minute guided tour of the Old Police Cells Museum beneath Brighton Town Hall, exploring 200 years of Sussex policing and crime history.
This guided tour takes visitors beneath Brighton Town Hall into the Old Police Cells Museum, weaving through original holding cells with an expert guide. Over roughly 50 minutes, the tour covers 200 years of Sussex policing and crime, including 1964 Mods and Rockers graffiti, the court model used in the Grand Hotel bombing investigation, a Brighton officer's role in pioneering the two-way radio, and the story of Chief Constable Henry Solomon. The historic underground site has uneven floors and low lighting; step-free access is available to the Men's Cells only.
