About

An illustrated review of the geology of the Kentish landscape, covering the sequence of rocks from the oldest formations to the youngest sediments.

This event provides an illustrated review of the Kentish landscape, starting with an introduction to the geological structures and the oldest beds like the Coal Measures. The program then moves forward in time to examine the Early Cretaceous Wealden beds, followed by the Lower Greensand, Gault Clay, and Chalk. The day concludes with a review of younger, localized sedimentary rocks such as the Lenham Beds and Sarsen Stones.
