Santa Underground: 300ft of Christmas Magic
About
A ticketed Christmas visit takes families 300 feet underground through historic coal-mine tunnels to meet Santa with their tour party.
Published dates are 28–29 November and 5–6 December 2026. The event page lists exact slot starts on each date; session ends are not stated. The experience lasts around 40 minutes. Each person in the party needs a ticket and adults must accompany children. Not suitable for children under 1 metre. Visitors walk throughout carrying a battery pack and wearing a hard hat; check in at reception 30 minutes before the booked tour. Santa is on a wheelchair-accessible route; the page says wheelchair-user slots are available at 10:00 and 15:00. Welsh-language sessions are marked in the individual slot list. Children receive a gift; no Santa photographs underground, with family photos possible at the surface with Butty Bear. Museum admission is free; event price is £15 per person, with parking charged separately.
