About
A free traditional Highland Hallowe'en night with samhnag, hazelnut fortune-telling and fuarag at the convent land in Fort Augustus.
Dha Thaobh a' Ghlinne's Heritage and Gaelic Development Officers Eilidh and Laura join Caoimhe Keohane of Wild Anam for Oidhche nam bòcan, a traditional Highland Hallowe'en evening. Activities include gathering round the samhnag to ward off bad spirits, predicting the future with hazelnuts, and fortune-telling with fuarag. Visitors can bring a carved neep (snèap) to enter a prize competition; the event lasts two and a half hours and under-16s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
