Embodiment as a Scientific and Theological Reality
About
Prof. Robin Morris gives a free seminar exploring how embodied cognition in neuroscience and the embodiment of God in scripture converge on Christian understandings of the divine.
Prof. Robin Morris delivers a one-hour seminar examining embodiment from both scientific and theological perspectives. He contrasts traditional substance dualism with contemporary cognitive neuroscience's emphasis on embodied cognition, and considers the embodiment of God in the Old and New Testaments. The talk explores how these two areas converge to inform the Christian concept of the divine and the imago Dei in humans. A light sandwich lunch is provided from 12:30pm, with seating by 12:50pm for a prompt start.
