Ukrainian artist Mary Lydon gives a talk at Johnstone Textile Space on her textile-based practice and the Skarbnystya heritage project.

Mary Lydon, a Glasgow-based Ukrainian multidisciplinary artist, discusses her craft-based practice, focusing on textiles, embroidery, weaving and traditional symbols and motifs. The talk considers how making can serve as cultural preservation and how her work moves between Ukrainian and Scottish visual cultures. She is co-founder of Skarbnystya, a project celebrating Ukrainian cultural heritage through art and craft, and a selection of its merchandise will be on display. The event lasts one hour.
