Casting Tour and Museum

A two-hour guided factory visit with a live casting viewed from the hall platform. Depending on the foundry’s current work, the casting may be a bell or iron fittings; visitors cannot choose in advance. The tour also visits the covered yard, joinery shop and tuning shop, and includes the Interactive Museum.

An introduction to Taylor’s Bellfoundry leads into the Victorian factory, where visitors see the covered yard, joinery shop and tuning shop before watching a live casting from the dedicated platform. The foundry says that the casting may be a bell or iron fittings and will not be known until the day. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours. Ages 9+; under-16s must be accompanied by an adult. Flat, closed shoes are required; in winter, dress warmly and avoid loose clothing. A carer ticket is free with evidence. The ticket includes an annual Interactive Museum pass, allowing a visit on the tour day and a return visit within one year. Advance booking is required at least 24 hours ahead; drop-ins are not guaranteed, so call on the day to check availability.
