Recreate the Celtic belief of Samhain: Stitch this year to the year ahead.
About
A free family drop-in craft session at the Oxfordshire Museum celebrating the Celtic festival of Samhain by stitching a collage of the past year to hopes for the next.
This family drop-in activity marks Samhain, the Celtic festival on the last day of October that was believed to end the old year and begin the new one. Participants create a collage of the best bits of their year, stitch it to how they intend to spend Samhain/Halloween, and stitch that to their hopes for the year ahead. The session runs with two time slots on the day, and booking is requested for all group members taking part so organisers can monitor numbers and prepare resources.
