About

A free Surrey Bird Club morning birdwatching walk at Stanwell Moor and Staines Reservoirs, meeting at 0900.

Surrey Bird Club's field meetings programme lists a morning walk to Stanwell Moor and Staines Reservoirs, covering up to 3 miles across two venues. Stanwell Moor has recorded many notable birds in recent years, with a chance of early returning Short-eared Owls, Water Pipits, Goosander and a variety of passerines and raptors. The group then moves to Staines Reservoir, where the north basin's remaining water is attracting waders, herons and wildfowl; a telescope is useful but not essential. Participants should bring refreshments and wellies if there has been rain, and no toilets are available on site.
