About

A lecture by Alison Bevan on the Lamorna artists' colony in Cornwall, presented by The Arts Society West Wales at Queens Hall, Narberth.

Alison Bevan, an art historian and former public gallery curator, gives a lecture on the Lamorna artists' colony, which emerged in the early 1900s as the Newlyn School declined. The talk covers how students from the Forbes art school joined artists such as Dame Laura Knight, Alfred Munnings and SJ 'Lamorna' Birch in a bohemian coastal community, and their encounters with figures including Augustus John and WH Davies. The lecture starts at 11am and is a seated event; guests are welcome at £15 on the door.
