Lamorna Colony Pioneers

Art historian David Tovey gives an illustrated talk on the artists' colony that formed in the Cornish valley of Lamorna in the years before the First World War, introducing figures such as John Lamorna Birch, Elizabeth Forbes, Laura and Harold Knight, and Alfred Munnings. The talk explores their paintings, personalities and relationships, and how the outbreak of war changed the community's fortunes. Doors open at 5pm, with the talk and audience Q&A running 6pm–7pm. It is part of the Cornish Art Talks series, with a four-talk pass available.
